OSHPD Facilities Development Division has four distinct preapproval programs that operate under the Structural Support Unit (SSU) and InspectionServices Unit (ISU).

OSHPD Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM)

The OSHPD Preapproval of Manufacturer’s Certification (OPM) is a voluntary program for review and preapproval of seismic design of supports and attachments for nonstructural components to be used in health facilities construction in California.

OSHPD Special Seismic Certification Preapproval (OSP)

The OSHPD Special Seismic Certification Preapproval (OSP) is a voluntary program for review and preapproval of Special Seismic Certifications to be used in health facilities construction in California.

OSHPD Preapproved Laboratory (OPL) Program

The OSHPD Preapproved Laboratory (OPL) Program is a voluntary program for laboratories performing structural tests in California health facilities construction. OPL is issued on the basis of the Laboratory's accreditation or DSA-LEA approval in accordance with PIN 58:

OSHPD Preapproved Details (OPD)

The OSHPD Preapproved Details (OPD) are standard architectural and engineering details developed by OSHPD FDD for use in California heath facilities construction, at the discretion of Registered Design Professionals (RDP).

OSHPD Preapproval of Anchorage (OPA)

The OSHPD Preapproval of Anchorage (OPA) program is discontinued effective March 1, 2013. Existing OPAs can be used for projects based on the code cycle under which OPAs were approved.
