Recent Regulation Update:

On April 3, 2014 the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) granted approval for regulations to require hospitals to report ICD-10 codes to OSHPD beginning October 1, 2014. However, the federal government has postponed the implementation of ICD-10 codes pursuant to House Resolution 4302 until October 1, 2015 at earliest. Since no new date has been set by the federal government for ICD-10 adoption, OSHPD is working on regulations that will modify the implementation date on these regulations recently approved by OAL regarding ICD-10 to October 1, 2015. It is OSHPD's intent to adopt ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS on the same schedule as the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Please check this website periodically for updated information regarding this matter, or subscribe to our mailing list in order to receive emails regarding this and/or other OSHPD issues.
