The NHSC/SLRP has recently recieved $2 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which will be used to fund additional loan repayment awards. Applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning December 14, 2009 through February 14, 2010 or until all of the funds are expended, whichever comes first. -

OSHPD's Healthcare Workforce Development Division is conducting research on the viability of Governor's Designation (GD) for the State of California and is seeking input, opinion, and feedback from its rural stakeholders. In 2007, the Administration, with the assistance of a grant from The California Wellness Foundation, convened the Healthcare Workforce Diversity Advisory Council (Council) housed within the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (Office) and chaired by the Latino Coalition for a Healthy California (LCHC). The Council was charged with developing recommendations to address California's health professional shortages, especially among underrepresented groups. Public input from key stakeholders gathered through regional hearings guided the Council in identifying and prioritizing recommendations and developing the final report and fact sheet. - The California Primary Care Office (PCO) finalized the California Statewide Impact Analysis (SIA) and submitted final comments on the Proposed Rule to the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA).
