Career Executive Assignment (CEA) Examinations

A Career Executive Assignment (CEA) is an appointment to a high administrative and policy-influencing position for which the primary responsibility is the managing of a function or rendering of management advice to top level administrative authority.

The Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development is currently accepting applications for the following CEA Examination(s):

Open Examinations

Open Examinations are open to the general public.

Competition is open to all interested applicants who meet the minimum qualifications (MQs). You do not have to be a State employee to qualify.

Continuous Filing Examinations

Testing is considered continuous as dates can be set at any time.

The Notices of Testing announce the anticipated testing for continuous examinations.

Promotional Examinations

Applicants must be currently employed with OSHPD or have eligibility to compete in OSHPD's promotional examinations and have a permanent civil service appointment without a permanent break in service as of the final filing date.

Staff Services Analyst (SSA) Transfer Examination

Competition is limited to OSHPD employees who meet the requirements to laterally transfer to the SSA Classification.

Paid and Unpaid Leaves

  • Bereavement Leave - As a state employee, you are allowed paid time off if a member of your immediate family dies.
  • Family, Parental, and Other Leave - Up to one-year of unpaid leave.
  • Jury Duty - In general, if you are called for jury duty, you serve with no loss of pay as long as you remit to the state any fees received for jury duty.
  • Military Leave - Up to 30 calendar days with pay for military leave each year if you meet specific requirements.
